Bible Lamp

This is a historical reproduction of a 17th century English Bible lamp. During the time in England’s history when bible reading was prohibited, punishable by death, this lantern would allow just a sliver of light to illuminate the page and as you read further down the page, the front of the lantern could be opened to let the light go down the page. It was fueled by a single candle.
